Prof. Dov Albukrek is a pediatrician and specialist in medical administration, serving since 2022 as Deputy CEO and Head of the Medical Division at Meuhedet Health Services. He earned his M.D. from the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences at Tel Aviv University in 1992, and his M.H.A. in Health Systems Management from Ben-Gurion University of Negev in 2001. He completed his residency in pediatrics at Schneider Children’s Medical Center of Israel in 2003 and completed a fellowship in medical administration in 2009. In 2026, he was appointed Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Public Health at the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, Tel Aviv University.

Throughout his career, Prof. Albukrek has held a range of senior leadership positions in Israel’s health care system. From 2020 to 2021, he served as Deputy Director of Rabin Medical Center, and from 2014 to 2020, he was Director General of Reuth Tel Aviv Rehabilitation Hospital. Earlier in his career, he served as Medical Assistant to the Director General of the Ministry of Health from 2012 to 2013. During his military service, he held senior medical and command positions in the Israel Defense Forces Medical Corps, including Chief Medical Officer of the Central Command, Head of the Medical Classification and Occupational Medicine Branch at the Office of the Surgeon General, and Division Medical Officer of the Judea and Samaria Division. He holds the rank of Colonel in the reserves.

Prof. Albukrek is active in national forums and committees in the fields of health policy, medical management, rehabilitation, and geriatrics. Since 2022, he has served as a member of the Public Committee for the Expansion of the Healthcare Services Basket and as a member of the Steering Committee of the INBAR Healthcare Management Program for leadership in Israel’s health care system. Since 2016, he has been a member of the General Assembly and Audit Committee of the Lewis Institute. He previously served as a board member of the Hospital Directors Association of the Israel Medical Association, and as a member of the National Councils for Rehabilitation and Geriatrics.
